Honoring those who have served…
Happy Veterans Day! On this important holiday, we’d like to thank all of the veterans, and their families, for their service. We know that many of you are still struggling through mental and physical challenges and may even be dealing with the ramifications of a TBI, or traumatic brain injury from many years ago.
What is TBI, or Traumatic Brain Injury?
A TBI happens when a sudden jolt, blast, or blow to the head disrupts normal brain function. If you are a veteran, you may have experienced this type of injury during combat, training, or even from repeated exposure to explosions and heavy equipment.
While some TBIs are mild, their effects can last for years. In fact, you may no longer be on active duty, but experience new headaches, memory and focus issues, mood swings, and/or sleep problems today.
Per The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Office of Research and Development:
“The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) reported nearly 414,000 TBIs among U.S. service members worldwide between 2000 and late 2019. More than 185,000 Veterans who use VA for their health care have been diagnosed with at least one TBI.”
If this sounds familiar and you have tried everything to ease your pain, there is hope!
With the latest technology, you can now pinpoint where your pain is coming from, get a specific diagnosis and better treatment.
Specifically, traditional x-rays, MRIs and CT scans are static and miss valuable information. Instead, guided motion imagery takes videos of your spine in motion in real-time. Along with brain data from a qEEG, you receive information on how your brain and spine work together that was previously unavailable.
With this information and personalized brain training (that helps improve focus, memory, and recovery), you receive a whole-body approach. This integrated perspective uncovers how an injury affects balance, coordination, and cognitive function… so you can begin to get the appropriate treatment to feel better.
